Hiding the Remaining Time

Add mystery to your lock session by hiding the countdown timer from view

The Chastity Lockbox includes a “Hide Display Time” feature that conceals how much time remains in your session. This adds an element of uncertainty and anticipation to your experience.

What “Hide Display Time” Does

When you enable “Hide Display Time,” the remaining lock time becomes hidden across all locations:

• Dashboard Homepage — Your main dashboard won’t show the remaining time
• Lockbox Homepage — The lockbox-specific page hides the countdown
• Lockbox Activity Table — The activity log omits remaining time
• Public Voting Table — Voters cannot see the remaining time
• Physical Device Display — The lockbox screen hides the countdown
• Vote Notifications — Time adjustments from votes display without specific durations

Hygiene break information (for example how often breaks are allowed and how long they last) is separate from the lock countdown. The lockee’s Chastity Lockbox overview may still show break schedule details when Hide Display Time is on, so they know breaks are available—only the remaining lock time is hidden as described above.

Your lock session continues to function normally even when the time is hidden. The countdown still runs in the background—you just can’t see it.

Who Can Enable This Setting

The “Hide Display Time” setting works differently depending on your lock scenario.

Self-Lock Scenario

If you’re locking yourself, you can enable this setting before starting your lock session.

1. Navigate to your lock template settings
2. Find the “Hide Display Time” option
3. Enable it before initiating your session

Once your self-lock session begins, you cannot change this setting yourself.

Keyholder Scenario

If a keyholder manages your lock, they can enable or disable this setting at any time—before the session starts or while it’s active.

This gives your keyholder complete control over whether you can see your remaining time.

How to Enable “Hide Display Time”

1. Navigate to lock template settings

   Go to the dashboard and open your lock template settings page.

2. Find the display time option

   Locate the “Hide Display Time” setting within your lock template configuration.

3. Enable the setting

   Toggle the “Hide Display Time” option to enabled.

   For self-lockers, enable this before starting your session. Keyholders can toggle it at any time.

4. Start or continue your lock

   Once enabled, all time displays hide across the dashboard and on your physical device.

Common Questions

Can I re-enable the time display during an active lock?

If you’re self-locked, you cannot change this setting during an active session. However, if you have a keyholder, they can toggle this setting on or off at any time during your lock session.

Will my keyholder still see the remaining time?

Yes. Your keyholder always sees the remaining time on their end, even when it’s hidden from your view. This allows them to manage your lock session effectively.

What happens if someone votes on my lock?

Voting continues to work normally—people can still add or remove time from your lock. However, when votes are cast, you won’t see any time information in the notifications. You’ll know that a vote occurred, but not the specific time impact.

Can I see my lock history after the session ends?

Yes. Once your lock session completes, you can see the full history including all time information in your activity log.

Does hiding time also hide hygiene break frequency or duration?

Usually no—the lock countdown is what hides; hygiene break schedule details are called out in the Note under What “Hide Display Time” Does above.
